Mr. Jay A. Cohen

Chief Executive Officer

With more than 20 years experience in commercial business and real estate, Mr. Jay A. Cohen plays an integral role in financing, acquisition and new development opportunities for Jayco Real Estate Investments in addition to providing leadership to the Jayco management team.

Prior to forming Jayco, Mr. Cohen worked at Long & Foster Realtors as a Commercial Investment Realtor, where he realized the potential opportunity for accredited investors to profit from commercial real estate transactions - a contributing factor in starting Jayco.

Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer with Information Management Resource Group, Inc. Mr. Cohen's role was pivotal to the growth of the company through forming strategic alliances and new business development opportunities in both the commercial and government sector.

Mr. Cohen grew up and has worked throughout the Northern Virginia region for 30-plus years, complementing his expertise and knowledge of the area's business and real estate landscapes. When he isn't engaged in professional pursuits, Mr. Cohen enjoys the arts, community involvement with local theater productions and volunteering. He is a founding member of the board of directors for the non-profit i-play Children's Museum, a new museum dedicated to helping children appreciate and create art.

In addition to Mr. Cohen's civic affiliations, he is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Northern Virginia Association of Realtors, and the Northern Virginia Technology Council. He also remains affiliated with Long & Foster Realtors.

Karyn M. Kortan

Director of Operations

Karyn M. Kortan is Director of Operations for Jayco Real Estate Investments, overseeing operations, financial processes/development, and helping implement the company's business objectives.

With more than 15 years experience consulting and directing operations for senior executive management, Ms. Kortan's primary roles have been in the technology and healthcare industries. Prior to joining Jayco, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Information Systems Development Corporation, where she marketed information technology services to the government.

Ms. Kortan has served as Chief Information Officer for the local chapter of the National Association for Quality and Participation (AQP) among others. Her responsibilities have ranged from business development to executive management and from facilitation to strategic planning, each of which she draws upon at Jayco as Director of Operations.
